Well friends, this is it! We are getting married on Saturday!
I had planned to post another recipe for you this week, but in what’s become classic form for me the past few months, I ran out of time to write it up. I realized when we were on the plane on Tuesday that the photos were still on the memory card in my camera at home. Oh well, nothing like leaving everything behind to really make you unplug and enjoy the time with family and friends! And that’s exactly what we’ve been doing the past few days and plan to do for the next week. It’s glorious so far. So today I have just words… and in October I’ll have a zucchini recipe. Oops.
I have to say that everything has really come together for the wedding, and planning has been relatively stress-free overall. The beauty of planning a wedding close to my parents’ house and faaaar away from mine :) I successfully carried my dress on two Southwest flights (all bunched up in a carry-on – now time to get it pressed!), which seemed like the biggest hurdle as far as making sure everything was in order. Now that we’re home, we get to relax, eat seafood like it’s going out of style, and drink the many batches of beer my dad brewed for the occasion. I feel very spoiled!
Of course I’m anxious for everything to go smoothly the day of – sticking to the timeline seems like it will be the biggest challenge. I also hate being the center of attention, and am a bit nervous to be the one in the white dress. I know all eyes will be on me – kind of my worst nightmare! But the forecast is 70 and sunny, and I get to marry my best friend in front of all the people we love… even if I wish they weren’t focusing their attention on me. I guess it doesn’t get much better than that.
I will of course be sharing many, many pictures after the occasion! But for the next few weeks, while we get married, go on a “mini-moon” to Martha’s Vineyard, and I then fly right to Vegas for work meetings (boo), I’m planning on unplugging. I don’t have any posts scheduled to go up – there just wasn’t time! – so I will have to leave you hanging. BUT I promise to return with wedding pictures… and a zucchini recipe.
See you when I’m a Mrs.!

One day, squeal!! ;)
I’m happy to hear you and your dress made it safe and sound. And I hate being the center of attention too but you will feel like such a princess that, for one day at least, you might enjoy it a little. ;)
I can’t wait to see the pictures! Best wishes for a beautiful wedding and an even better marriage!! xoxo

Everything is going to be absolutely perfect and I cannot wait to read about it and (hopefully) see some sneak previews on Instagram! Enjoy your time off and see you when you’re a MRS :)

Congratulations! I got married last October and honestly the BEST advice I can give (not that you need it ) is just TAKE it all in. Take in all the love and support that surrounds you. All the friends and family that come to see you and enjoy EVERY minute of the days leading up. The day goes by SO fast and you’ll wish you held onto so many more memories, so DO your best to stay present and ENJOY!!! You’ll have the best time!
xo

As someone who is in the know, this will be one of the happiest days of your life so enjoy it! Don’t worry if you aren’t able to spend time with EVERYONE at the reception, if you get pulled in too many directions at once, that’s just part of the fun! The main thing is for you to enjoy every minute spent with family and friends. One of the best feelings my husband and I remember (besides all the wonderful people who shared our day), was the big sigh of relief that came as we drove away! After all the work, planning, worrying about the unknown problems that “might” come up, and wanting everything to be just PERFECT, just remember: This is the beginning of your new life together!
Wishing you nothing but happiness,
Marcia
